“From Tabernacle to Temple”

Talk Abstract:
Dr. Jay Newitt served with his wife Sylvia as full-time construction
service missionaries at the Provo City Center Temple. Their job was
to assist in making sure the project met plans and specifications and
to write a comprehensive history of the construction.

Speaker Bio:
Jay recently retired as a Professor of Construction Management at BYU
after teaching there for 37 years. Elder Newitt has a PhD, many
publications, and has written a text book which has been adopted by
construction management programs at universities across the nation.
Sylvia Newitt has a BS degree from BYU and owned and operated a
preschool in Spanish Fork at the First Class Learning Center. Elder
and Sister Newitt have six children and 17 grandchildren.
