Talk Abstract:
You will learn how to correlate your research between the big family history sites and distinguish the difference between navigating your cousin’s conclusion trees and actual sources about your family history. You will discover how to use tabs and timelines to systematically place your results on solid, well-analyzed research. You can become an expert researcher and quickly document your family’s history online with six simple tips for working with multiple family history websites. Learn how to stay focused and in control of your family history searches. And understand how to record the results so that you don’t get tripped up as you move along your family tree.

Speaker Bio:
Janet Hovorka received a B.A. in Ancient Near Eastern History and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from BYU. She has held various teaching and library positions at BYU and Salt Lake Community College. She and her husband Kim Hovorka own Family Chartmasters (familychartmasters.com), an online genealogy chart printing service that was the first company to be FamilySearch Certified. Janet is passionate about the nutrition family history brings to the souls of all family members and how it creates stronger relationships in the family today. Janet writes the Chart Chick and the Zap The Grandma Gap blogs, has written for numerous genealogy publications, and enjoys speaking about genealogy nationally and internationally. She is past President of the Utah Genealogical Association and has helped thousands of people all over the country understand family history better.
