Recieved at Manti at 5:45 P.M.

I had a m[is]erable night. Satan finding me alone without a man in the house holding the Priesthood sought to kill me. I [am ral]lying against it. Exceedingly feeble. [Dr.] Benedict [?] was away all night necessarily detained till [until] 10 o’clock [10:00 am] this morning. President A. H. Cannon [Abraham Hoagland Cannon 1859-1896] and others [who] visited me today will see I’m not left tonight.

Father had spent the winter in St George and was on his way to Mexico when he was taken sick in Salt Lake. [Salt Lake City, Utah]
