Provo City July 2nd 1883 [Provo, Utah Monday 2 Jul 1883]

Dear Elisabeth [Elizabeth Rebecca Ashby Snow, b. 1831],  I got your telegram yesterday (Sunday) [1 Jul 1883] morning and read it to the girls and they say you might just as well go to Upper Kanab [now Alton, Kane, Utah] with Libbie [Elizabeth Ashby Snow Ivins, b. 1854] if you choose and Georgianna [Georgiana Snow, b. 1862] will soon be home to help look after the House.   Josephine [Josephine Snow, b. 1859] would like to come also to spend a while at Upper Kanab [now Alton, Kane, Utah] if opportunity offers.   If I don’t get loose so as to come sooner.   I think I will at least after Sanpete conference [Sanpete, Utah] middle of August   When I should be glad to have you and one of the boys meet me with teams either at Sanpete [Sanpete, Utah] or at Richfield [Richfield, Utah] much later or Panquitch [Panguitch, Utah] last of August [Friday 31 Aug 1883].   Possibly could meet you at the Lake [Panguitch Lake ?] earlier if a company comes there in August [Aug 1883].   If you don’t go to Upper Kanab [now Alton, Kane, Utah]

now, perhaps you can have Arthur [Arthur Eugene Snow, b. 1870] return with horses and bring you with Buggy to meet me at some of the points named above in August [Aug 1883] when we could go home by Upper Kanab [now Alton, Kane, Utah] and reach home to the conference in September [Sep 1883] -

If Libbie [Elizabeth Ashby Snow Ivins, b. 1854] wants to take the spring bed, have Orson [Orson Pratt Snow, b. 1860] try if it can’t be fitted into [the] Black carriage and use it for a back seat as well as bed as we did from Arrizona [Arizona] fitting sacks and other baggage underneath   I came here today with E W [Erastus White Snow, b. 1849]   will return [to] Salt Lake [Salt Lake City, Utah] tomorrow.    Our girls went up to Bountifull [Bountiful, Utah] today and will return to spend the 4th [4th of Jul 4 Jul 1883] at Salt Lake [Salt Lake City, Utah].   Weather not quite as bad as last week but warm enough and we all feel for you.   Hope you will continue well as we all are here.   Sister Smoot still very feeble.

God bless you.  Of course Clarence [Clarence Snow, b. 1874] goes to Upper Kanab [now Alton, Kane, Utah] .    yours-    E. Snow [Erastus Snow 1818-1888]
