helps and ideas about them.
JOURNAL KEEPING
- Journal keeping ideas
- Write -- write in a journal regularly, if you can.
- Record -- dictate into a digital or tape recorder
every night; can keep these in audio format and also transcribe them
- Photo journal -- annotated scrapbook -- example
using PAF's multi-media properties
- Email -- write emails every day or every few days to
your family and think of it as a journal; can include photos; send a copy to
yourself and keep them in a folder by date
- Blog -- set up a blog and add to it
regularly; can include
photos
- Other kinds of journals, e.g. spiritual thought
journal, study journal, idea journal

PERSONAL HISTORIES AND THE SAVE OUR STORIES (SOS) PROGRAM
- Save Our Stories (SOS) program -- One-hour life story
interviews
- If you have access to a computer with a microphone,
record it digitally.
- Can keep it in audio form and also transcribe it;
put it on CD to have both an audio and a text version
- Can
use a cassette tape recorder and convert it to digital format later
- Can "interview" yourself by just responding to the
questions

outlines for one-hour interviews
- Some online sets of interview questions to give you more
ideas
- Other ideas
- Bottle with personal history questions to select one from each week to write about
- Book with personal history questions one to write about each day
- Jot down reminders of stories from your life to write about

ASSIGNMENT
- If you aren't keeping a journal already, decide how
you are going to do your journal and get started in the next day or two.
- Have someone conduct a one-hour SOS interview of you
to record your life story.
- Contact your Ward Clerk and get a printed copy of your
LDS membership record (Individual Ordinance Summary).
