new FamilySearch are good in any temple

immediately available on IGI on www.familysearch.org
- Genealogy data from these is accessible to everyone
(LDS or not)
- Ordinance data is only accessible to LDS who are
registered on FamilySearch
- To register you need your LDS Membership number and
confirmation date -- see Ward Clerk
- Sign up on www.familysearch.org
and select user name and password
- Data from temple cards processed in any temple from new
FamilySearch (nFS)
sheets after about Sep 2008

- so will does NOT show in IGI, only in nFS
- Genealogy and ordinance data are available
only to LDS who are registered on nFS

Membership number and

AFFILIATE
(3RD-PARTY) PROGRAMS THAT WORK
WITH NEW FAMILYSEARCH
CONCLUSION
- New FamilySearch is a "new ballgame" for temple submission and
will take getting used to; get help from Ward FH Consultants
- Still has some bugs, but they are getting them out as fast
as they are reported by users
- Will help LDS members and especially converts without long
lines
of ancestors in the Church
ASSIGNMENT
- Check with your Ward Clerk and get a copy of your
Summary of
Ordinance sheet and check it for correctness. Give corrections to
Ward Clerk to submit to Salt Lake. Register for nFS if you aren't
registered already.
- Watch the 15-minute Navigating and Find Information
tutorial on
nFS > Help Center > nFS Overview and Guides .
- Download the new FamilySearch pdf Manual from the nFS
Help Center
and look through it briefly.
- Open your PAF database and nFS side-by-side on
your computer screen by first opening both programs, then
right-clicking on a blank space in the blue toolbar at the bottom of
your screen and then clicking on Tile Windows Vertically. Use
this to find an ancestor in nFS and copy some data from nFS into your
PAF database this way.
