La Ascencion [La Ascencion, Chihuahua, Mexico]  March 25th/86 [Thursday 25 Mar 1886]

Dear Elisabeth [Elizabeth Rebecca Ashby Snow, b. 1831] & Josephine [Julia Josephine Spencer Snow, b. 1837]

I wrote a few lines from Casas Grandes [Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico] Tuesday 23 [23 Mar 1886] and on arriving at Carrollete [?] same night found your letters of the 4th [Thursday 4 Mar 1886] written at the close of St. George Conference.   Last night I found here letters from M. Thatcher [Apostle Moses Thatcher] Logan [Logan, Cache, Utah], G.H. Crosby Leeds [Leeds, Washington, Utah], and Minerva [Minerva White Snow, b. 1822] Salt Lake [Salt Lake City] as also one from Prest. John Taylor [President John Taylor].   Am busy answering them and Bro [Brother] McClellen is impatiently waiting to take them to mail at Deming [Deming, New Mexico].   Crosby writes that he was just starting for Arrizona [Arizona] and that Deputy U.S. Marshall of Silver Reef [Silver Reef, Washington, Utah] had just offerd [offered] Frank Hamilton $500.00 gold to Deliver me into his hands.   I trust he will not be gratified.   I wish you was [were] with me this summer.   We look for Burton & Preston here soon.   S.H. Hill here remains for the present.   If I start to meet you in Arizona He may go with me.   If you conclude to come with team, Tell Tony [Anthony Woodward Ivins, b. 1852] or D. Segmiller [Daniel Seegmiller. b. 1836] to raise you a good Span [of] mules to come with as they will be most valuable for service and easiest kept & not so likely to get stolen.   Bring my grey suit and summer garments socks etc.   Continue to address me here untill [until] you start.   Possibly the boys will hear of some refugees who will accompany you.

God bless you all.  Bring some Utah dried fruit.

E. Snow [Erastus Snow, b. 1818]

Keep close mouth all of you.
