Dear wife [Elizabeth Rebecca Ashby Snow, b. 1831] We stoped [stopped] at Provo [Provo, Utah] Sunday morning [11 May 1884] and attended their [?] meetings and Bro Thatcher [Apostle Moses Thatcher] & myself preached in the forenoon and Wm Taylor [William Taylor] and M. Thatcher [Apostle Moses Thatcher] in the afternoon. The two latter brethren took evening train for Salt Lake [Salt Lake City] and Minerva [Minerva White Snow, b. 1822] & I remained at Provo [Provo, Utah] till Monday evening [12 May 1884] Josephine [Josephine Snow, b. 1859] was feeling well and all the rest ditto - Trees & gardens in Provo [Provo, Utah] and Salt Lake [Salt Lake City] are quite forward much more so than at any point we passed North of Bellevue [Bellevue, Utah ? Draper, Utah ?]. Elias has gone to Bear Lake [Bear Lake, Utah] his success is I think a little doubtfull [doubtful] - Dora [Dora Crooks Pratt Snow, b. 1860] and children doing nicely. Mary Gates [Mary Minerva Snow Gates, b. 1813] has had a touch of pneumonia, but is all right again and Bro Gates [Jacob Gates] is looking and feeling quite smart and is going to Logan to attend the Dedication of the Temple next Saturday [17 May 1884] - Conference [Logan, Utah Stake Conference] commences Friday [16 May 1884] - The First Presidency and Twelve [Quorum of Twelve Apostles] are to start up tomorrow morning [Wednesday 14 May 1884] - Will be gone about a week- Hope to hear from you upon my return. I have sent you a pound [1 lb] [of] Z.C.M.I. [Zion's Cooperative Mercantile Institution] Best Tea at 45 cts [45 cents] and a 5 lb [pound] Box Figs and a bottle [of] coach varnish for D. Milne [David Milne ?] to use on my Buggy & yours. Julia Ivins is bringing them. She goes the [to] Milford [Milford, Utah] to meet my team Friday morning [16 May 1884] and expects to go home wtih Arthur [Arthur Eugene Snow, b. 1870] who I suppose is on the way up with E. W. [Erastus White Snow, b. 1849] & family-
I instructed George Albert [George Albert Snow, b. 1863] to see to keeping him and lading him up for home. I trust they will [have] pleasant weather and a good trip home-
Please see that Bro David Milne is notified at once if not already done to have my Buggy, as soon as Croft [?] fits the spring in (which I sent with Coop goods) taken under cover either in the old Adams shop or in my carriage house and the top cleaned and oiled and the body and wheels painted and as soon as Arthur [Arthur Eugene Snow, b. 1870] arrives with the varnish have it well & thickley [thickly] varnished and stand and harden till I return in June [Jun 1884] & let no one touch it- Let him also paint yours-
I closed a bargain with Jacob G. [Jacob Gates] while in Provo [Provo, Utah] for his or Susies house in St. George- I hope Toney [Anthony Woodward Ivins, b. 1852] will see that Cote and your heifer both find their mate as [I] mentioned it to him-
Tell him also that I shall rely on Orson [Orson Pratt Snow, b. 1860] & your boys & Willie [William Spencer Snow, b. 1867] doing my labour [labor] on Dams & ditches yet due and cuting [cutting] Lucerne first time in field, but Ashby [Ashby Snow, b. 1867] and Willie [William Spencer Snow, b. 1867] might flax and put in the corn & some Lucerne and water it &c under E. B. [Erastus Beman Snow, b. 1853] & Toneys [Anthony Woodward Ivins, b. 1852] directions and let Orson [Orson Pratt Snow, b. 1860] engage with E. B. [Erastus Beman Snow, b. 1853] Carpentering if needed or if thought best. He & one of the boys might work a while at coffee [copper ?] mine. Yours &c E. Snow [Erastus Snow, b. 1818]

Went up & saw Lucy S. Snow [Lucy Simmons Snow, b. 1855] this evening. She had a letter from Frank [Franklin Richards Snow, b. 1854] of May 4th [Sunday 4 May 1884] - all well. I dined with Heber & Lucy [Heber J. Grant, b. 1856 and Lucy Stringham Grant, b.1858] today. Saw Julia, Rachel [Rachel Ridgway Ivins Grant] & others all well. H. & L. [Heber J. Grant, b. 1856 and Lucy Stringham Grant, b. 1858] go to Logan [for Logan Temple Dedication Saturday 17 May 1884].
