My Dear wife Elisabeth

Your long expected letter arrived by last mail.  Was glad as I always am to read lines pend [penned] by you, especially those of confidence and effection [affection].  I feel gratefull [grateful] that you are all as comfortable as you represent yourself.  Hope Flora will be better when good weather comes  I have long thought perhaps that she was troubled with worry  If you can find any warm medicine at Bro Bentleys or Johnsons, get it and ask God to bless its opperation [operation] upon her.  I was glad to read her short letter.  I Pray our Heavenly Father to bless her with his spirit and heal her that she may live to serve him and her Joy and honor to us- My own health is now very good and we’re living very comfortably with sister Beckstrom [Anna Beckstrom] and doing considerable visiting among our friends-

We attended a Party at 14th ward assembly rooms last night.  Had a very pleasant company-several of the Twelve and Presidency and William Cluff and wife (formerly Ann Whipple)

Bryant Stringam [Stringham] and family are all well except Harriet who gave birth to a fine healthy daughter last Saturday [15 Feb 1868].  I called lately and found her doing well, but I have been to busy since the reception of your letter to call on them.

We are now in session and the clock has struck ten - Our session closes tomorrow and business crowds upon us.  I hope Mahonri is recoverd [recovered] from his sickness. I expected him and Bro Woolley would have been on there [their] way up with their girl, before now.  I should be ready, to start home next week if they were here.  I will write again soon if I remain.  Tell Julia.  I have not time to answer her letter tonight and as the mail leaves [xerox copy ends here – need to find the original and xerox it over]
