From: Salt Lake [Salt Lake City, Utah] May 16th, 1888 [Wednesday 16 May 1888]

Recieved at Manti at 5:45 P.M.

To: President F. D. Richards

I had a m[is]erable night. Satan finding me alone without a man in the house holding the Priesthood sought to kill me. I [am ral]lying against it. Exceedingly feeble. [Dr.] Benedict [?] was away all night necessarily detained till [until] 10 o’clock [10:00 am] this morning. President A. H. Cannon [Abraham Hoagland Cannon 1859-1896] and others [who] visited me today will see I’m not left tonight.

Love to Bro. Young [Brother Brigham Young Jr.] and brethren

E. Fairbanks. [Erastus Snow, b. 1818]
